[...] As some of you might know, starting a business with your spouse—a nonprofit, no less—is no easy feat. Our friends, Russ and Britt built a strawbale house together soon after they were married, and they did not (emphasis on NOT) recommend building a house together as a “positive post-wedding bonding exercise.” For us, that’s sort of like starting a business together. We wouldn’t necessarily recommend it as the best “post-wedding bonding,” but if you must—make sure your spouse is supportive and willing to listen and actively pursue a “work relationship” that is functional and efficient. Twelve months later, we’ve found that working relationship and couldn’t be more excited about the future of our organization. (Did you hear about our grant? SO PUMPED!)
Sean & Mollie, just came back from our first but definitely not last ROI camp. It was an amazing experience!!! Our daughter type 1 & our son type 3 had an amazing time. This was their first time skiing/snowboarding and what an amazing way to start a sport. Our son hasn't stopped talking about snowboarding with Sean and our daughter not only had one on one instruction but made some new friends!! I can't put into words how much this weekend meant to all of us. Thank you for all that you do for not only the kids with diabetes but for the siblings that sometimes get lost in the shuffle. You both are truly an inspiration!!! See you next year.

Just got back from the Riding On Insulin camp at Snowplanet, Auckland, NZ. I'm the Dad of a girls who's best friend (Emma) has diabetes. Yes a bit far removed from the whole thing I know. I had a great day on my own while Sean, Mollie and gang looked after my daughter and her best friend. THEN the best thing ever happened - they had their meeting after the snow boarding. I wasnt sure whether to go at first - mainly because I didnt know too much about it all. But we went all the same - and it was SO COOL. I learnt more about what you guys n gals have to put up with in an hour than I knew ever. You are all sooo courageous. Thanks for teaching my girl how to snowboard, and more importantly, thanks for teaching an old f*rt like me that kids sometimes have to deal with far more than other people realise. Awesome effort S&M. Will def try to come again next year. PS the rest of my family also had one of the best days ever. Love and hugs. GNMT
